Mechanism of Action: Cefprozil works by inhibiting the synthesis of the bacterial cell wall. It binds to and inactivates penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) located on the inner membrane of the bacterial cell wall. This disrupts the peptidoglycan synthesis, leading to the lysis of the cell wall and the death of the bacterium.
