Mechanism of Action: It is believed to work by binding to a protein called synaptic vesicle protein 2A (SV2A) in the brain. This action helps to decrease the release of neurotransmitters, which in turn reduces the abnormal electrical activity that causes seizures.

Indications: It is primarily an antiepileptic drug (anticonvulsant) used to treat and control various types of seizures, including partial-onset seizures, myoclonic seizures, and tonic-clonic seizures, in both adults and children.
