Description
Parawin
Description: Parawin is a medication that contains Paracetamol (also known as acetaminophen) as its active ingredient. It is a widely used analgesic (pain reliever) and antipyretic (fever reducer) drug. It is available in various forms and dosages, such as tablets and syrups.
Indication: Parawin is primarily used for the management of mild to moderate pain and the reduction of fever. It is prescribed for symptomatic relief of conditions such as:
- Headaches and migraines
- Toothaches
- Muscle aches and joint pain
- Backaches
- Menstrual cramps
- Pain and fever associated with the common cold and flu
- Post-immunization pyrexia (fever after a vaccination)
Mechanism of Action: Parawin works by inhibiting the production of prostaglandins in the central nervous system, particularly in the brain. Prostaglandins are chemical messengers that are responsible for signaling pain and causing fever. By blocking their release, Parawin helps to raise the body’s pain threshold, making a person feel less pain, and it acts on the hypothalamus (the brain’s temperature control center) to lower body temperature and reduce fever.
