Description

• Mechanism of Action: Febuxostat is a xanthine oxidase inhibitor. It works by blocking the enzyme xanthine oxidase, which is responsible for converting purines into uric acid. By inhibiting this enzyme, it lowers the amount of uric acid in the blood.

• Indications: It is used for the chronic management of hyperuricemia (high uric acid levels) in patients with gout.
